Product Overview
It's the absolute attention to detail that has made Hogan the authoritative standard for discriminating aircraft model collectors who recognize and appreciate superlative quality, accuracy, and realism. Designed and manufactured by collectors for collectors as accurate, true-to-scale reproductions of actual aircraft, Hogan models simple, snap-fit, solid injection molded components assemble with perfect, professional results in just minutes without the need for gluing, painting, or affixing decals.
Produced under license by Boeing, this Hogan 1/200 scale Egyptair Boeing 787-9 - Registration SU-GEW - measures approximately 12-3/8-inches long with an 11-7/8-inch wingspan and includes a display stand along with intricate landing gear that has rolling rubber tires and rotating fan blades in its engines for heightened authenticity.
Having entered service in 2011 as a more fuel-efficient, environmentally responsible replacement aircraft for the aging Boeing 767-200ER, the innovative, twin-engine, wide-body Boeing 787-8, which was Boeing's initially introduced aircraft of the 787 series, was considered to be an optimal size to accommodate around 250 passengers, as market demand for the Boeing 747 and 767 had begun to drop off.
With a range of 7,565 nautical miles, the Boeing 787-9 was designed to change hub-and-spoke travel to new, non-stop, ultra-long-haul, direct point-to-point routes where bigger aircraft could not be accommodated by smaller airports or were financially justifiable.
Recognized by its noticeably curved wings with raked back wingtips and chevrons on its engine nacelles, the Boeing 787-9 not only affords the utmost flying comfort with an expansive interior design, larger windows, lower cabin noise and enhanced oxygen levels, it incorporates technologically advanced, state-of-the-art avionics and electronics systems along with an airframe that mainly comprises lightweight composite materials.
