Product Overview

Produced to the highest standards, Herpa diecast metal models are developed in collaboration with aircraft manufacturers and the airlines and are recognized by discerning model airplane collectors worldwide for their unparalleled, accurate realism, attention to detail and exceptional quality. Ornately decorated with fine Arabic artistic motifs, Etihad has chosen a series of special liveries to acknowledge its significant partner countries and travel destinations to which it flies. True-to-scale, this Herpa 1/500 scale Etihad Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner - Choose Saudi Arabia - measures approximately 4-15/16-inches long with a 4-3/4-inch wingspan. A Display Stand is not included and is sold separately - Herpa HE521024. Brought into service as the 787-8 Dreamliner in 2011 by Boeing as a more fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly successor to the aging Boeing 767, the innovative, twin-engine, wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner is offered in different versions that can be configured to typically seat from 210 to 330 passengers and is recognized by its prominently curved aerodynamic wings with raked back wingtips and chevrons on its engine nacelles. Technologically advanced with onboard state-of-the-art avionics, electronics systems and an airframe that primarily comprises lightweight composite materials, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner can fly ultra-long-haul, direct point-to-point routes up to 8,500 nautical miles and offers improved cabin noise and oxygen levels, larger windows, and a very spacious interior design for maximum flying pleasure. The Boeing 787-9, which went into service in 2014, is a lengthened version of the Boeing 787-8 with a higher maximum takeoff weight and can fly 280 passengers approximately 7,600 nautical miles.
